Build Your Home Apothecary With Me

One plant. One Recipe. One season at a time.

Together we'll explore medicinal plants, evidence-informed aromatherapy and simple botanical preparations - learning slowly, season by season, until caring for yourself, your home and the people you love begins to feel wonderfully natural again.

Where Should You Start?

Where Should You Start?

One of the questions I'm asked most often is, "Where should I start?"

My answer is almost always the same:

Don't try to learn everything.

Choose one plant or essential oil that captures your imagination.

Learn its story.

Understand how to use it safely.

Welcome it into your home and see how it quietly becomes part of your everyday life.

Then, when you're ready, choose another.

That's exactly how my own home apothecary has grown, and it's still the approach I follow today.

Everything you'll find here on Subtle Medicine is designed to help you do the same.

How We'll Build Your Home Apothecary

There isn't one right way to build a home apothecary.

Mine has grown slowly over many years, shaped by my work as a doctor, my love of medicinal plants and an endless curiosity about the ways nature quietly support our wellbeing. Rather than trying to learn everything at once, I'd love to help you build yours in the same gentle way I continue to build mine.

🌿 Learn One Plant

Begin with one medicinal plant or essential oil. Learn its story, understand how to use it safely and build confidence one plant at a time.

🧴 Bring It Into Everyday Life

Discover simple botanical preparations, diffuser blends, body oils, infused honeys and other gentle ways to invite plants into everyday life.

🍂 Follow the Seasons

Explore what nature is offering throughout the year, preserving each season's gifts and learning alongside the changing landscape.

🤍 Build Slowly

There is no rush and no finish line. A thoughtful home apothecary grows naturally through curiosity, practice and time.

What Could Your Home Apothecary Look Like?

A home apothecary doesn't have to be a room lined with jars or shelves filled with remedies.

Sometimes it's a pot of mint on the windowsill. Sometimes it's a bottle of lavender you've learned to use with confidence. Sometimes it's homemade vanilla quietly infusing in the cupboard or a body oil you've blended yourself.

There isn't one right way to build a home apothecary. There are simply thoughtful ways to invite plants into everyday life.
